COURSE DESCRIPTION


"EXTREME TECHNIQUE" COURSE

- a lesson that lasts an hour and a half each week. Starting with stretching and muscle tone-up, then explanation and practise of the technique, combination steps, guided improvisation, and relaxation (for a full description of the course see below "what you learn")

"CREATIVE CHOREOGRAPHY" COURSE
- this course is for those who want to play with their fellow dancers creating ever new dances which at the end of the year and on other occasions will be performed in public. An hour a week for this lession which is dedicated to the study of choreography from all aspects: entry/exit on stage, management of the space on stage, how to create a choreography, stage presence, costumes and stage make-up.

"BELLYDANCE CARDIOFITNESS" COURSE

- this kind of course comes fresh from the USA where the physical aspects are a philiosophy of life, and could not exeem itself from putting bellydancing together with cardiovascular and muscle tone training in a fun and effective workout. This is a very recent discipline very popular amoungst the film stars fed up of the usual pilates and aerobics. This is a new creative alternative called bellydance aereofusion which permits you to remodel your abdomens and gluts, tone up your muscles and improve your aeorobic abilities, all to the rhythm of music! (To do this course you have to have a basic knowledge of the movements of oriental dance).



"BABYBELLY" COURSE
- the course for little girls aged 5 and over is back! They can approach the world of bellydancing through play. The lesson starts off with a muscle warm-up with particular emphasis to posture, this is followed by the study of the dance technique itself and ends with an improvisation both guided and free to stimulate the girls creativity. The girls learn how to socialize, by acquiring a sense of belonging to a group and keeping a disciplined behaviour but are free to express their own personalities.

WHO IS FOR ?



Belly dancing has the enormous advantage of being suitable for practically all women of all ages, therefore for girls of 5-6 to mature if not older women. One can start belly dancing at any stage in one's life as it isn't necessary to have any previous experience of dancing and no particular physical shape is required. This discipline is dealt with in different ways, according the group formation. The rhythm can be very fast therefore becoming an excellent way of exercising or the structure of the class can be such that the rhythm is slower with a view to relaxing the body and reinforcing the spirit. There are no counterindications but only remarkable benefits both at a physical and psychological level and it is for this reason that doctors advise to practise it more and more. I like to teach the technique and the discipline, which lie at the base of the dance and then all you have to do is free your mind and your heart!


WHAT DO YOU LEARN?


My course is a voyage in the world of oriental dance in the classical Egyptian style: we start by studying the basic steps and symbolisms, which go side by side with the history and mythology of the antique dancing techniques to this day. At first the techniques learnt during the lessons are applied to choreographies but then we go on to improvising and interpreting the music. The lessons include a careful warming up of the muscles through stretching and yoga techniques, to loosen the muscles and to make the body flexibile. Particular attention is given to breathing techniques together with posture and movement, which lies at the basis of a harmonious, elegant and correct movement. In this way, all the basic elements for the improvement of one's psycho-physical well-being are provided as well as those that aim to give the dancer an excellent basic technique. The study of the dancing techniques will go hand in hand with events-shows in which the students of this dance technique will also be able to take part.
